How Do NSAIDs Work?
NSAIDs work by blocking a specific enzyme called cyclooxygenase (or COX) used by the body to make prostaglandins. By reducing the production of prostaglandins, these medications help relieve fever and discomfort and reduce inflammation. In doing so, they alleviate associated pain as well.
When Are These Medications Needed?
